Zelda and I have a working mommy. It's the Friday before Labor Day and the office was a little more relaxed, so she took us with her to work today. So we were working girls too today. No, not those kinds of working girls, but these kinds of working girls.
Since I'd already been to mommy's office before, I had to show Zelda the ropes.
Me: OK, so you have to give mommy her cup of brown drink first. She likes that.
Zelda: Check!
Me: And be careful with mommy's mugs. The Cup Noodle one from Auntie M is her favorite one. And the We Are Happy to Serve You mug is her second favorite. She'll be upset if they get broken.
Zelda: Gotcha!
Me: And then you have to answer mommy's phone when she's busy and take appointments.
Zelda: What are appointments?
Me: Oh, nothing. Just scribble a little in that book and it'll be cool. Smiley faces are good.
Zelda: Got it!
Me: Lastly, you have to make sure you review mommy's work with our calculator. Her calculator is backwards, so I don't trust it.
Zelda: I'm all over it!
Me: So that's it! You're ready to rock now.
Zelda: Boy, work sure is fun!
Me: Yup!

Long Live the King
The iconic Elvis died in August of 1977. Mom grew up listening to Aloha from Hawaii at least once a week because Gramma P was a huge fan.
Elvis was before my time, but mom and I are going to pay tribute to him this fall. Everyone will hear about it when it's all ready...
If we can pull it off, it's going to be fabulous - like peanut butter and banana sandwiches! We've already ordered a part of our project from Stephanie at SpunkyJunk. How exciting!
Mom and dad are working really hard on a new place for Zelda and I. They're finally done with all the sanding and have cleaned off most of the sawdust. Next up is painting!
It'll hopefully be big enough to be a townhouse. That would be great! Things are starting to get a little crowded in our temporary apartment.
So, on Friday, mom started sketching the plans for the layout of the new place. Yippee! Very exciting! The sketch is kinda sloppy, but that's OK. Mommies aren't always perfect.
On Saturday, mom went to the Intergalactic Bead Show to buy some beads for her fall/winter jewelry shows.
After the bead show, she stopped in at Irwin Street Market for a cupcake at Sweet Pockets. This time, she had a Cookies & Cream cupcake. How delish!
While she was there, mom also bought some rock scissor paper cards. She loves the mouse notebook that she bought from them at the Beehive Co-op last year.
Atlanta's craft scene is really growing these days and that's just the coolest! Crafty girls love Blythe and mom loves crafts.
Mom bought me a fun new hoodie and dress! Mary of MforMonkey made the awesome hoodie and Claudia of Le Petit Boutique made the fantastic dress.
Do you see the little cupcakes on my hoodie and the little trees on my dress? It's just too fabulous for words.
We're going to put the hoodie away for now since it is hot as balls in Atlanta, but I'll be sporting it all winter long!

Mommy's Major Malfunction
Mommy's walking around the house, acting a little crazy tonight... She's pulling her hair and stomping around the house, muttering to herself.
I don't quite know what's wrong with her, but she dropped this during all her pacing...
And then I spied this on her computer screen...
Whatever it is that's on her computer screen seems to be the thing that's making her crazy. Poor mom.
I hope she's OK and doesn't have to go to the loony bin...

Good Golly, Miss Molli... Loves Cupcakes!
Mom and dad went to Chef Liu on Buford Highway for lunch. It's a total hole-in-the-wall, but mom and dad say that's those are the places with the best food around. They shared a scallion pancake and mom had Shanghai pork buns and dad had vegetable dumplings. Yummy!
Afterwards, dad went to the Buford Highway Farmer's Market for some groceries, while mom went to hang out with Maita. She has been looking forward to seeing Maita all week.
Mom and Maita went to the Irwin Street Market to catch up. Grown-ups really love to talk a lot!
They talked about all kinds of stuff like sewing, cars, food, business ideas, and flowers... They like to talk and laugh about everything together.
The Irwin Street Market is a really neat space. It seemed like a really nice place to spend an afternoon. We'd definitely like to go back someday. Maybe the other Atlanta Blythe folks would like to have a meetup there sometime.
Mom and Maita had cupcakes from the Sweet Pockets stand. Maita had an almond flavored one and mom went with a lemony one. (Mom's been craving lemon-flavored things lately because it's been so darn hot!) Zelda and I had a nibble and they were both really tasty!
Woo hoo!!! Cupcakes - two days in a ROW! Score!!!
Mom and Maita liked the hot brown drink the people gave them afterwards, but I'm a little suspicious of it. It was bitter and made me hyper. It's probably another one of those grown-up things.
Maita gave us something for mom's birthday. Maita packaged it up in a slick and crafty envelope she made herself.
WOW! Look! Maita made original drawings for our apartment! We love them and can't wait to have them framed.
Mom tells us that Maita is an extremely talented architect and designer, even though she is way too modest to admit it.
Thank you for our wonderful gift, Maita. We will think of you every time we see your drawings in our apartment. We hope you know that you are very, very special to us!

Good Times, My Friends!
Aaaahhh... It was good times today!
Mom took Zelda and I to the Atlanta Botanical Garden to meet up with other Blythe folks. Even though it was scorching hot, it was so much fun!
We took our first picture at the fountain near the cafe. One of the Maddies suggested we go on a swim, but our moms wouldn't let us. Bummer.
Then we took a picture with a huge dragonfly in the fountain.
We found a little bench under a shady arbor for a short rest. We needed it. It was HOT out! Mom and I were sweating like chickens in a pillow factory. Of course, Zelda was just fresh as a daisy (as usual).
There was a relaxing fountain and water lilies or something. Zelda is such a fat-head. I can barely see over her in this picture!
We took in a little sun out on the lawn together. Zelda's being a total fat-head again! This time with poor Summer.
Zelda: Hey! What about you? You're blocking Tory!
Mommy took some solo shots of Zelda and I, but it was too hot... Everything was all dry and droopy like granny boobies. All those thirsty, thirsty plants...
Zelda found some flowers, but they were just as thirsty as the ones I found.
It was so hot that my feet got kinda stinky. Zelda really didn't want to smell my feet, but I made her do it anyway since I'm the older sister.
I was getting cranky from the heat, so mommy made us settle down and take a time out on the benches.
I guess I do kinda like Zelda... She's alright!
Mommy's lovely friend Kristen made cupcakes for her birthday. Thank you so much, Kristen! You are too awesome!!! We are so happy that mom has such cool friends.
Zelda ate her cupcake like a little lady...
And I gobbled mine up quickly...
Mommy scolded me for getting icing on my face, though. That's OK - it was so perfect and yummy that it was worth it!
After our big day out, mom and dad put Zelda and I down for a nap while they had a date afternoon together. They went to see Superbad and ate dinner at Top Spice.
What a great day!

Molli-ment Part Deux
Mom's work is so nice to her. She got to leave early today because they have Summer Fridays. Since she was home early, we worked on Molli-ment together.
We put the final touches on the Molli-ment. Flowers! Are they
Here they are, all ready to go!
Mom also made some cupcakes, but they were TERRIBLE!!! Mom's never been great at following recipes. They were way too sweet, undercooked, and oily.
Seriously, have you ever had an oily cupcake? It tastes about as good as it sounds, which is really good... Good for me to poop on!
Thank goodness we have daddy around. Otherwise, Zelda and I would be stuck eating the gross food that mommy makes.

Molli-ment
Zelda and I love Re-ment because every box is a great surprise inside, so we thought it might be fun to make some blind boxes for the Atlanta Blythe meet on Saturday.
What will be in them? It's a secret... Everyone will find out on Saturday, though!
I shall call them Molli-ment!!!
Mom's into crafts, so she helped out. She helped us match papers with ribbons and stuff. Zelda has better handwriting than I do, so she took care of the labels. I was the official adhesive engineer.
I'm pretty good with glue... Zelda's going to get a nice surprise the next time she brushes her hair.
All that crafting has me plumb tuckered out... We shall finish the Molli-ment tomorrow night!
